This is an emergency that is just beginning. Flooding and outbreak of communicable diseases are certain if shelter and relocation are not achieved.

The rainy season has already begun in Haiti, and the hurricane season is on its way. Without safe shelter, the lives of hundreds of thousands of homeless Haitians are at risk.

As flooding starts, Haiti faces a public health disaster that could be as great as the earthquake itself. Devastating diseases including tuberculosis, typhoid, tetanus and malaria are spreading quickly.

J/P HRO launched the BEAT THE RAIN campaign to help relocate and provide safe temporary shelter for more than 50,000 earthquake victims.

We need your help. Please become part of the BEAT THE RAIN campaign today.

Here’s how you can make a difference:

MAKE A DONATION

We are launching our Beat the Rain campaign to raise funds for permanent housing for the displaced Haitians. Our immediate concern is moving the most at risk citizens of the Petionville camp to a new location and providing tent shelters that will protect from the rain to the remaining people.

As we launch this next phase of our campaign we will develop a plan to provide more permanent housing and work, as well as medical care and education for each member of our camp. This is an ambitious goal and can only be achieved with your support.
