Meet Doudley!
January 5, 2012 Written by Doudly Elius

My name is Doudly Elius; I was born on April 7th, 1983. I love reading and writing. For the time being I am living with a family of eight people in Port-au-Prince City, near the national airport.

I studied Administration at INAGHEI from 2005 to 2010, a public university in Haiti. Now I am preparing my thesis to get a license in administration. In October 2010 I started learning Project Management at a vocational school and within two months from now I will be graduated.

Before working at J/P HRO I had heard of the good work that J/P has been doing for the Haitian community and the change that it brings in the Haitian society and I am excited to be part of it. The work environment and all its surrounds are more like a family, and the sharing between colleagues, the full concentration that J/P employees whether volunteers or not; is giving to do their work perfectly; increase my excitement and determination to work with all my well-being.

Something I found as a terrific opportunity of being the Communication Officer is the meeting of different people and also the stories; I am fond of writing stories and the fact that I know people in the United States or even in all the world are going to read the stories of the Haitian community increases more my delight to work at J/PHRO.

Working for J/P is a great experience since it provides me the opportunity to extend my knowledge and learn more about different types of culture and understand the Haitian people more, their thinking, and their way of leaving… When interviewing people in camps, I get to know them better. As a result it helps find out the depth mentality of my own Haitian brothers and sisters.
